Our primary baptism preview was tonight. All I had to do was a few decorations and the invites but they turned out cute. We have all boys getting baptized this year. Jack Roderick, Carson Gubler and Leo. They were all so excited to get baptized. They listened so intently to the speakers. MaryAnne Thomas gave a great talk about how we take on Christ's name when we get baptized. They got a new white towel for their special day. It was really neat. There was two things that happened that had nothing to do with the Preview but were special to me...
As all of the primary and their parents were coming in I was greeting them. The Rodericks came in...all of them...but it seems as though the kids forgot the rule about hugging me when they see me. So Meagan walks in, Katie walks in, Jack walks in, Whitney walks in...all without hugging me. All I had to say was "Im sorry, did I miss something here" and they all came running over to hug me, even Meagan. And Jack was so excited to hug me, he just squeezed me. It was the sweetest!
Then as Deanne was giving her talk and telling the kids what to expect now that they are 8, she started to talk about the Duty to God book. She held it up and asked if they had seen it, maybe from their siblings and Jack says "no, but Jeremy has one" It just touched me so deeply. My son was an example to someone. Jeremy has had such great examples to him and now he's an example to someone. Jeremy loves Jack. We have been so super close to the kids, its just so rewarding to see some really great things happen.
