Hawaii

SUNDAY: First day, June 10th

Monday
This was our first full day here. We did a lot of walking around, checking out the beaches. We borrowed some friends gear: long board and snorkel and had a blast.

Tuesday
Jer and I took stand up paddle board lessons. It was really hard that day. It was choppy and Jeremy thought he was going to get eaten by a shark. The instructor had to paddle him in. It was still fun for me though. I didn't stand up because it was so choppy I didn't want to fall   :)
Then we went to the brewery to eat. It was delicious.

Wednesday

Kona Temple!

Jeremy asked to take a picture of "mom and dad" then he says 'dad, give mom a smoochy" it was so precious!!

Thursday
Body surfing all day. Mike and I actually had a blast! It was like  being a little kid again!

Friday
We spent about 5 hours here at this beach. It was at the Marriott. They had just started Aloha Friday. It was 25$ a person for 4 hours to use all their stuff. It was GREAT!! They had stand up paddle, snorkel, kayak, hydro bike, canoe, glass bottom boat ride...it was so fun!! Jer and I definitely got a ton of use out of it! Then that night Mike was going to go on a Manta Ray tour and Jer and I were not going. We were going to just sit and eat and wait for him to get back. Well the owner lady totally talked us into it. IT WAS AMAZING!!!! So so cool. Ill never forget it. They totally just swam all around us. They have scuba divers at the bottom of the ocean creating a "camp fire" with their flashlights and it attracts all the plankton and then Manta Ray. It was the best experience ever!

Saturday
Kona had their King Kamehameha parade. We happened to get front row at the restaurant that morning so we grubbed on breakfast while watching.

SUNDAY: last day
Fathers day
We played in the water for just a bit. It was over cast and kinda cold. So I didn't dare get into the water. We cleaned up and last minute decided to go see the volcano. The volcano itself was ok. But the hike into the lava tube was awesome!! It was gorgeous!  And the black sand beach on the way home...really really pretty. We had a wonderful day together.

Awesome pictures Mike took!!!

MONDAY: Day we had to leave

This is Harry and Sandy. They Run the properties where we stayed. They were the nicest people I have ever met. They were so kind. They let us borrow all their water gear. Their happy, love for life attitude was infectious. I came home a different person. I want to be that way. LOVE life and be grateful for the one I have. It was one of the best vacations I have ever had. Thanks honey for being such a wonderful sport the whole time. I LOVE YOU
